Just because your car just touched the line in an area with multiple parking lots, does that mean it's legal for a towing company to take your car? This is ridiculous and unjust justice. Any company that can't find a car to tow would be a waste of time and money.
So now they have an incentive, created by their desire to maximize profits, to see any car parked where its tire touches the line and tow it away with the confidence of the courts that uphold their policy.
The same happened to my husband. He stopped at a friend's car and had a 30-second conversation with them, then said he'd talk to them later at school.
He never got out of the car, he still had the engine running and his foot on the brake. And he got a double parking ticket. My husband is not worried about not having to pay the fine.
