Minimum Clearances: Exit: 8 ft (250 cm) / Sides, Top, Back: 3 ft (91.4 cm)WARNING: Operational Precautions
This is an oil fired forced air heater. Its intended use is primarily for temporary heating of buildings under construction, conversion or repair. Direct combustion means that all combustion products enter the heated space. Although this heater operates at very close to 100% combustion efficiency, it still produces small amounts of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide (called CO) is toxic. CO can accumulate in a heated space and poor ventilation can cause death. Symptoms of insufficient ventilation are:
- headache
- dizziness
- burning eyes and nose
- nausea
- dry mouth or sore throat
Be sure to follow the ventilation advice in the Safety Precautions section. Forced air means that a blower or fan forces air through the heater. Proper combustion depends on this airflow; Therefore, the heater should not be serviced, modified, or operated with parts removed or missing. Also, safety systems must not be overridden or modified to operate the heater. If the heater is operated in the presence of other people, the user is responsible for familiarizing those present with the instructions on safety precautions and the risks involved.WARNING: Safety Precautions

maintenance and storage
CAVEAT: To avoid personal injury, unplug heater before performing maintenance. For maximum efficiency and trouble-free operation, perform the following regular maintenance, cleaning, and inspection tasks.
ADJUST THE PUMP PRESSURE
Due to differences in fuel viscosity and normal component wear, it may be necessary to adjust the pump pressure on this heater.
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
- Fill the fuel tank.
- start heating up
- Locate the pressure adjustment screw, located on the back of the power supply and accessible through the heater handle.
- Remove the rubber cap over the fuel pressure adjustment screw.
- Using a screwdriver, turn the pump pressure adjustment screw:
• clockwiseto increase pump pressure
• counter-clock wiseDecrease pump pressure With the pressure gauge installed (if available), you can calibrate the pressure quantitatively. See specification table on page 3 for manufacturer's recommended pump pressures.
- Desired quality burner characteristics are that the nose cone in the combustion chamber should be cherry red in color with no dark spots and the flame should not extend beyond the nose cone.
INCORRECT PRINT SETTINGS
Problem:
The heater does not have a strong, even flame. The heater smokes and spits out raw fuel.
The nose cone does not turn cherry red.
Attitude:
Pump pressure is too low. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to increase pump pressure.
Problem:
The flame extends beyond the end of the heating element.
Attitude:
The pump pressure is too high. Turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise to decrease pump pressure.
daily maintenance schedule
- USUALLY🇧🇷 Carry out a general visual inspection of the heater in search of loose or damaged parts. Check nuts and bolts to make sure they are not loosening due to vibration or rough handling. Damaged parts must be repaired or replaced before using the heater again. Check the operation of the heater to ensure that it is operating normally (see the Maintenance section for a description of normal operation).
2.FILTER🇧🇷 Dirty air or fuel filters cause an imbalance in the air-fuel mixture. The best indication of this condition is an increase in odors or difficulty starting the heater. This heater should never be operated without filters installed. If necessary, clean the filters as described in "500 hours" and "Every year".
schedules".
500 hour maintenance schedule
- AIR INTAKE FILTER🇧🇷 Remove and wash the filter element with a mild detergent, dry it well and replace it. Do not lubricate the filter element. If your heater is used in very dusty or dirty places, clean it as often as necessary (approximately every 50 hours).
- REMOVE DUST🇧🇷 Clean the heater twice a season (more often in dusty conditions). Blow accumulated dust from the transformer, burner, motor, and fan blades with compressed air. Wipe the area with a clean, dry cloth. Inspect the area to ensure all foreign material has been removed, particularly around the burner and combustion area. Safety glasses must be worn when using compressed air.
- CAD CELL🇧🇷 Clean the glass part of the Cad cell with a soft and dry cloth.
- ONE HUNDRED🇧🇷 Fuel residue and carbon buildup from the compressor vanes will eventually fill the passages in the nozzle, resulting in reduced air and fuel flow. Pressure will gradually build up, resulting in improper fuel-air mixture and excessive odor and smoke. In this case, replace the fuel nozzle.
- FUEL TANK🇧🇷 Clean twice a season (clean twice a month during busy periods). Drain and flush the fuel tank with clean fuel oil. Be sure to properly dispose of used fuel.
annual maintenance plan
- AIR OUTLET FILTER🇧🇷 Remove the air outlet filter and gently tap the dirty side on a solid object to dislodge the dirt. Compressed air or liquids should not be used to clean this filter. Put the clean filter back into the filter body in the same position it was removed. If the filter appears extremely dirty, replace it with a new filter of the same type. When reinstalling the filter cover, make sure the gasket is tight and the filter cover screws are tight to prevent air leakage.
- FUEL FILTER🇧🇷 Remove the fuel filter from the fuel line and bleed compressed air through the filter in the opposite direction of fuel flow. Safety glasses must be worn when using compressed air.
- AIR AND FUEL LINES🇧🇷 If the air or fuel lines are removed during cleaning, make sure all connections are tight before operating the unit.
store
Store the heater in a dry place, free from smoke and dust. Clean the heater at the end of each heating season as described in the MAINTENANCE section. Drain and flush the fuel tank with clean fuel. The manufacturer recommends that the tank be completely filled with fuel during long-term storage to minimize condensation in the tank. It is recommended that kerosene be stored only in containers marked "KEROSENE".
maintenance
CAVEAT: A dangerous condition can result from the use of a heater that has been modified or that is not working properly. If the heater works normally:
- The flame is terminated in the heater.
- The flame is essentially yellow.
- There is no unpleasant strong odor, burning eyes or other physical discomfort.
- There is no smoke or soot inside or outside the heater.
- No unplanned or unexplained heater shutdowns.
